Pickscan offers four batch picking algorithms, each grouping your orders in a different way to optimise your warehouse picking workflow. You can select your preferred algorithm from the batch pick settings
Group by Postage Service (default)
Orders are grouped into batches based on their assigned postage service (e.g. Royal Mail Tracked 24, DPD Next Day). This is useful when your packing process varies by service type, or when you sort orders into service-specific dispatch areas.
Group by Courier
Orders are grouped into batches based on their postage vendor (e.g. Royal Mail, DPD, Evri). This is a broader grouping than postage service — all services under the same courier are batched together. Ideal when your dispatch workflow is organised by carrier rather than individual service level.
Group by Channel
Orders are grouped into batches based on their sales channel (e.g. Amazon, eBay, your own website). This is useful when different channels have specific packing requirements, branded inserts, or separate fulfilment priorities.
Group by Product
Orders are grouped into batches based on the products they contain. This allows pickers to collect the same items together across multiple orders, reducing travel time in the warehouse and improving pick efficiency.
